Uzbekistan and Bangladesh have strong historical, cultural and religious ties for centuries: be it because of Uzbek’s great son Babur’s founding of Mughal empire in this region or the most favorite food delicacy – biriani/ polao is the transformation of Uzbek plov/ pilaf or Uzbek religious scholar Imam Bukhari has been respected extremely by the millions of Bangladeshi Muslims! In recent era, Uzbekistan’s cotton and yarn have received appreciation from Bangladeshi spinners/ garment makers. Bangladesh Readymade Garment (RMG) sector, being world’s 2^nd largest RMG industry, has great scope to collaborate with Uzbekistan Textile & Garment industry as the country is poised to expand its apparel manufacturing capabilities. Both countries would be benefited enormously in the area of trade and industry if work together.

Mehdi Mahbub- Advisor To Uztextileprom -Textile Ministry Of Uzbekistan

Since April 2019, Mehdi Mahbub, CEO of Best Sourcing and President of Bangladesh RMG Centre, has been assigned by Textile and Garments Authority of Uzbekistan to perform following functions as its Advisor:

Negotiating with global business representatives of commercial entities, public and private organizations from various textile and apparel bodies of Bangladesh and elsewhere in the world on the possibilities of developing business collaboration in Uzbekistan.
Assisting in attracting foreign investors and investments to Uzbekistan with objective of transfer of knowledge to the promising areas of development in the textile and garment industry of Uzbekistan.
Supporting in finding experts from Bangladesh to work on local production mills in Uzbekistan and further assisting in the skill development and human resource training for the industry.
Supporting in promotion of Uzbekistan’s textile brands on world market.

Textile Industry: Bangladeshi Experience and Opportunities of Uzbekistan

On March 1, at 18:30, at the GroundZero Technoplasma will be held a workshop on textile industry with the participation of well-known Bangladeshi expert. The seminar will be conducted by the CEO of Best Sourcing, President of Bangladesh RMG Center Mr. Mehdi Mahbub. During the seminar, the participants will discuss the development of textile and clothing and knitting industry. Bangladesh’s textile industry: past, present and future – lessons for Uzbekistan will be on Bangladesh’s own example. The advantages and disadvantages of the two countries in the textile industry are compared. Experts highly appreciate the state’s support for the industry in Uzbekistan, the availability of a number of benefits to the textile and clothing industry, and the availability of a local raw material base. Further details on the latest international standards will be provided. Participants can get answers to all their questions on the subject. It should be noted that the event is an important step in the development and exchange of foreign experience in the textile industry. The seminar, organized by the Association “Uztokimachiliksanoat” jointly with “Bangladesh RMG Center,” is conducted in English language and synchronized translation. We invite experts, journalists and everyone interested in the meeting!
