Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 0.2% in January-June 2020 versus 6% in the same period of 2019. The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
Industrial production in Uzbekistan decreased by 1.9% in January-June 2020 against 4.8% in the first half of 2019.
The growth rates of the volume of services provided in the first half of 2020 amounted to 2.6% (in January-June 2019 – 12.7%), construction work – 7.3% (23.7%), retail turnover – 0.7% (6.4%) and agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 2.8% (2.4%).
In the reporting period, cargo turnover decreased by 6.6%, and passenger turnover – by 13.8%.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover fell by 18.2% in January-June 2020, exports – by 22.6% and imports – 15%.
As of 1 July 2020, 462,017 enterprises and organizations are registered in Uzbekistan. The number of operating organizations was 433,868.
