Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov has taken part in the international online conference “Education 4.0. A new look at the tourism education system”.
The event was organized by Modern Education & Research Institute (MERI), the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan with participation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Brussels.
The conference was attended by prominent specialists from Uzbekistan, Belgium, the United States, Latvia and Belarus, as well as researchers and teachers of a number of higher education institutions.
Welcoming the participants of the conference, the Ambassador noted the timeliness of the event, especially in light of the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly to hold the International Forum “Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations” together with UNESCO in Khiva in 2021.
It was emphasized that the popularization of the rich cultural, historical and civilizational heritage of Uzbekistan and Central Asia as a whole is intended to serve the sustainable and economic development of the countries of the region by increasing the tourist flow from around the world.
Experts discussed issues related to possible changes in tourism education after the COVID-19 pandemic.
