President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Khorezm region on 12 December and visited an innovative greenhouse complex in Khanka district.
The facility of the limited liability company “Red Star Oxus” and worth more than 205 billion soums was put into operation in February this year. At the first stage of the project, hydroponic cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, bell peppers and greens was established on 7 hectares.
The greenhouse is made according to the innovative construction “Ultra clima”, developed by the Dutch company “Kubo”. The advantage of this technology is that the warm air that rises upward is taken away by the fans and supplied for heating through plastic sleeves located under each garden bed. This ensures high energy efficiency.
It should be noted that today the total area of greenhouses of this “fifth generation” design in the world is only about 200 hectares. Of these, 7 hectares are in Uzbekistan.
Another advantage is that special lamps with radiation are installed over the beds, simulating sunlight and providing the effect of photosynthesis, which contributes to high yields. For example, if tomatoes bear fruit in film greenhouses for 6 months, then in fifth generation greenhouses the harvest can be harvested within a year.
It was this feature that the head of state focused on during his familiarization.
– Today food security is becoming the most pressing issue in the world. The world market demands that agricultural products are supplied not only in season, but all year round. An enterprise capable of this will occupy its own niche in the market. This is a great source of employment and export of products, – emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The processes in the greenhouse are fully automated. At the first stage, 75 people were provided with permanent jobs.
The President was provided with information on the plans of the enterprise. Thus, within the framework of the second phase of the project, another greenhouse with an area of 8 hectares will be built. It is planned to commission it in December next year and create 150 more jobs.
– This enterprise is a driver. To increase the number of such greenhouses, it is necessary to interest a wide range of entrepreneurs and provide them with all possible assistance. This is the future of agriculture in Khorezm, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The importance of the formation on the basis of this complex of a school for the exchange of experience and training for entrepreneurs was emphasized.
– The first requirement for food products is quality. Therefore, each greenhouse should have its own laboratory, its own brand, the head of state noted.
A presentation of projects for implementation in agriculture took place here. Instructions were given on the specialization of areas, the development of new lands, the introduction of sprinkler systems. The task has been set to ensure justice in the system of rice cultivation, to allocate allotments to the population and through this provide people with jobs, and bring the poor out of poverty.
Information on the results of sociological research and dialogue on the study of the social mood of youth in Khorezm region is also presented. The head of state instructed to develop an annual program for the implementation of the plans, taking into account the aspirations and abilities of each representative of the younger generation.
