In August 2021, the Business Activity Index (IDA), calculated by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR), amounted to 1059 points, and, compared to the previous month, increased by 5.9%. There is also a 30% increase in IDA compared to the same period of last year.
The following changes were observed in the components of the IDA.
The business activity index in August 2021 increased by 5.9% and amounted to 1059 points, compared to the previous month, which is explained by changes in the following components:
– the number of transactions on bank accounts of business entities increased by 4.2%;
– the component of operating economic entities increased by 0.9%;
– the intensity of purchasing raw materials at the commodity and raw materials exchange increased by 6.0%;
– the component of trade marks increased significantly by 63.1%.
Regionally, Ferghana region showed the highest growth.
In August 2021, the Business Activity Index for 13 regions increased compared to the previous month (July 2021), except for Tashkent region. Significant growth was observed in Ferghana (55.5%), Samarkand (42.4%), Khorezm (38.1%), Namangan (38.0%) and Jizzakh (34.8%) regions.
At the same time, in the Tashkent region (-1.4%) there was a moderate decline in relation to the previous month.
OPERATIONS WITH BANK ACCOUNTS
The number of interbank payment transactions in August 2021 amounted to 4.69 million and increased by 188,500 transactions (4.2%) compared to July 2021.
The number of banking operations in 7 regions has increased.
In August 2021, the number of banking transactions between legal entities increased in 7 regions compared to the previous month. In particular, the most significant growth was observed in the city of Tashkent (7.3%), Tashkent (6.0%) and Syrdarya (4.3%) regions.
ACTIVITY ON COMMODITY EXCHANGE
In August 2021, the exchange component of the IDA was 1.0599. This means an increase in the component level by 6.0% compared to the previous month, which is associated with an increase in the number of transactions by 12.7%.
At the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the total turnover in August 2021 amounted to 5.73 trillion soums, which is 18.1% more than in the previous month.
ACTIVITY OF BUSINESS ENTITIES
The component of operating economic entities in August 2021 amounted to 1.0085, which means an increase in the component by 0.9% compared to the level of the previous month. This indicator also has a positive value in relation to the same period last year with an increase of 14.2%.
The number of operating economic entities in August 2021 increased by 7,510 units compared to July 2021 (566,642 units) and amounted to 574,152 units.
The number of large enterprises decreased by 9 units.
During the reporting period, the number of small businesses increased from 454,975 to 462,303 units (an increase of 7,328 units). The number of farms increased from 108 601 to 108 792 units (an increase of 191 units). The number of operating large enterprises amounted to 3,057 units, which is 9 units less than in July 2021.
BRAND REGISTRATION
In August 2021, the index of protected trademarks was 1.6312, which means a significant increase of 63.1% compared to the previous month. In August this year, legal entities registered 460 trademarks and trade names.
