President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated medical workers on their professional day.
“Sincerely, with all my heart, I congratulate you on your wonderful professional holiday – the Day of Medical Workers,” the Uzbek leader said.
He noted that one of the founders of world medical science, the great healer Abu Ali ibn Sino said that healing people is the highest manifestation of kindness and nobility.
“Our people see you as representatives of an honorable profession who have dedicated their lives to the very important and responsible cause of protecting the health of people, and appreciate your hard work, in which you put all your knowledge and experience, talent and skill,” he added.
“Indeed, human health is an invaluable wealth of society, and doctors are its selfless defenders. The health care system of the country occupies the most important place in ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of a person, respecting his dignity. In this regard, I want to repeat once again that only by strengthening peace in the country and ensuring the health of the people, we will be able to reach the targets,” President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“It is for these purposes that large-scale work is being carried out to radically reform the health care system and develop it at a qualitatively new level. It should be noted that over the past five years, over 200 acts of legislation have been adopted in the field, in particular, the Concept for the Development of the Healthcare System for 2019-2025,” the Uzbek leader said.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said the volume of healthcare financing is increasing every year. This is confirmed by the fact that this year alone, over 18 trillion soums were sent to the sphere – 4 times more than in 2016.
“The country has formed and is effectively operating a three-tier national health model, which includes the systems of primary health care, emergency medical care, and specialized medical services. Most importantly, qualified medical care is becoming more and more accessible to the general population, including in remote areas,” Mirziyoyev said.
“The quality of services is improving, new modern directions, methods of treatment and diagnostics, unique scientific and practical experience are being formed. I will give just one example – in a short period of time, more than 700 complex operations on kidney, liver, and stem cells transplantation have been successfully carried out in the country,” President stressed.
“Work on the protection of mothers and children is expanding. In particular, the establishment of a system of continuous monitoring of the health status of pregnant women is now becoming one of the key factors in a significant reduction in the level of maternal and infant mortality,” President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
President said that over the past period, a patronage service has been organized on a completely new basis. Households conducted by nurses, monitoring the health of each resident of the makhalla play an important role in preventing diseases and improving the medical culture of the population.
Along with state medical institutions, the number of private clinics operating in 129 areas of medicine is growing, which contributes to the formation of healthy competition in the field and gives the population an opportunity to choose, he added.
“It is known that the coronavirus pandemic has become a serious test, as well as for the whole world, for our country, especially the healthcare system. On this significant day, we once again express our deep gratitude to all medical workers who, in such a difficult and difficult time, were the first to come to the rescue and, putting their lives at risk, being in the very focus of a viral infection, courageously fought this dangerous disease,” President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“It is thanks to your efforts that advanced methods and means of combating the pandemic have been developed and introduced into practice. Currently, the population is being successfully vaccinated against the coronavirus,” he added.
“Our focus is always on the worthy stimulation of the selfless work of medical workers. Confirmation is the taken measures aimed at improving the working and living conditions of doctors, providing them with housing, increasing material incentives. Since 2019, about 550 workers in the field have been awarded honorary titles, orders, and medals. In accordance with the decree signed yesterday, state awards will be presented to another 82 medical workers,” he noted.
“The protection and strengthening of the health of the people will continue to be our main task. In the future, we intend to double the number of funds allocated for the development of the sphere, including bringing the salaries of doctors of the highest category to an equivalent of US$1,000 in the next five years, which indicates the scale of our plans in this direction,” President said.
“Our task is to turn national health care into a highly effective system that contributes to the qualitative improvement of public health. Particular attention will be paid to medical prevention carried out by primary health care, increasing the role of family doctors. In particular, effective measures will be taken to early detection of diseases that are most common among the population and are the main cause of premature death, to carry out targeted screening measures, to provide free special preventive drugs and to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to widely introduce information technologies into the field of information technology, the Uzbek President said.
“We understand very well that only a healthy people, a healthy nation are capable of achieving the great goal set for themselves – the building of New Uzbekistan. I am convinced that healthcare workers in our country will continue to use all their strength, knowledge, and experience to achieve such high levels. Once again I congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Medical Workers, I wish you all good health, great success in fulfilling your noble and responsible mission, peace and happiness to your families,” he concluded.
