On May 1, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The heads of state discussed the implementation of agreements at the highest level and the progress of major cooperation projects, the presidential press service writes .
At the beginning of the conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sincerely congratulated on the successful holding of the referendum on amending the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which took place on April 30 this year. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, warmly congratulated the leader and the fraternal people of Kazakhstan on the national holiday – Unity Day.
The implementation of the decisions of the heads of state was discussed. The governments were instructed to take measures to accelerate joint projects during the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, which will be held in Tashkent this week.
In addition, the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
