Over the past two weeks, the price has already risen by 14 percent. At the same time, according to the EastFruit analytical platform , the current price for bananas still remains below the level that was recorded for these products in past years.
According to price monitoring data from platform specialists, from September 22 to October 6 of this year, the average wholesale price for bananas in our country increased from 14,000 to 16,000 soums, which happened for the first time in the last 5.5 months.
In the third ten days of April, a steady decline in prices for bananas began, which lasted until the end of June of this year, and after the decline, the price remained without sharp fluctuations until the end of the second ten days of September at approximately the same level.
Platform analysts also note that in past years, the price of bananas in the fall was higher than the current one. We are talking about prices recorded on the date October 6 in the period from 2020 to 2022.
At the same time, bananas are one of the growing positions in our country’s imports in the segment of fresh fruits and vegetables. In particular, record volumes of banana imports into Uzbekistan compared to previous years were recorded in April-June of this year, which was facilitated by a decrease in prices for these products in the world in the second quarter of this year.
