On the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum and the meeting of the Foreign Investors Council today the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted a delegation led by the chairperson of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, the presidential press service said.
The meeting was also attended by CEOs from Air Products, CNH Industrial and Silverleaf.
At the meeting, the parties underscored the “current high level of Uzbek-US strategic partnership ties”, as well as the chamber’s contribution to the development of trade, economic and investment ties between the two countries.
The parties pointed to the stable growth in the volume of the two-way trade and investments inflow and the successful implementation of energy, agriculture, mechanical engineering and the food industry projects.
Carolyn Lamm, on behalf of the US business community, thanked the Uzbek leader for “personal attention and full support for economic interaction between the two countries.”
The parties reviewed the plans of US business to expand their presence in Uzbekistan, introduce best practices in the development of financial instruments and mechanisms, as well as implement projects in various industries.
The parties agreed to hold a business forum in Tashkent this year with the participation of major US companies and banks.
