President of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on strengthening military security and the defense capability of the state.
The meeting was attended by members of the Security Council, heads of ministries and departments that are part of the armed forces, commanders of military districts, and, via videoconference, the chairmen of the Jokargy Kenges and the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions and the city of Tashkent, as well as responsible officials of local authorities.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state discussed the measures taken to strengthen the country’s defense capability, their results, and pointed out certain shortcomings made in this work.
According to him, the national army is being equipped with modern weapons and equipment, which has significantly increased the level of combat and moral-psychological training of military personnel.

It is noted that, taking into account global experience and the analysis conducted, new combat units have been formed aimed at preventing and eliminating internal and external threats, and the organizational structure of the troops has been optimized.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the creation of a new system of modernization and modern equipment of the army is ongoing – the defense industry is developing, additional enterprises have been created. The Armed Forces of Uzbekistan have established bilateral military cooperation with more than 20 countries, successfully participated in more than 400 joint exercises.

In addition, the infrastructure of higher military schools has been completely modernized, and their curricula and methods have been brought into line with modern requirements.
Social and legal protection of military personnel and their families has also been strengthened. In particular, about 30 thousand families have been provided with housing, and more than 2000 children of military personnel have received benefits when entering universities.
Discussing priority tasks for 2025 and beyond, the President stressed the need to take into account modern armed conflicts, existing threats to national security and the specifics of the theatre of military operations when planning the further development of the army.
He pointed out that artificial intelligence, robotic systems, missiles, drones and countermeasures are widely used in modern regional conflicts. In this regard, it was ordered to create new units in the troops to combat drones, use robotic equipment, air defense, as well as cyber structures using artificial intelligence technologies.
The head of state stated that it is necessary to improve the combat readiness of the army, increase the level of combat training, create a unified automated troop control system based on artificial intelligence technologies, and introduce dual training in military education and training of military personnel.

Moreover, priority tasks have been identified to improve the activities of the Chief Sergeants Corps, which is the backbone of the army, further develop the defense industry, provide social support to military personnel and their families, educate young people in the spirit of patriotism and involve them in military sports.
On Friday, the President visited the Defense Industry Agency’s Center for Innovative Technologies, where he familiarized himself with new models of military equipment and projects in the defense industry. He instructed that private companies be attracted to the industry on a contractual basis.
