Bangladesh and Uzbekistan have discussed the great prospects of information technology (IT) sector and agreed to work together in the sector.
Alimjan Imarav, digital technology adviser to the prime minister of Uzbekistan, said on Thursday he will visit Bangladesh soon to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect.
Alimjan Imarav has shown the interest to work with Bangladesh in IT sector while a high-level Bangladesh delegation led by Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment affairs adviser to the prime minister, held a discussion with the official of Uzbekistan and informed him about the great prospect in the ICT industry of Bangladesh.
A 14-member high-level delegation is now visiting Uzbekistan to attend the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB Group) annual conference.
On the sidelines of the IsDB Group annual meeting, Bangladesh team had a plan to hold bilateral discussion with the government of Uzbekistanwith different investment prospects and proposals.
The visiting team led by Salman F Rahman visited Tashkent Hi-Tech Park to hold opportunities to do business with Uzbekistan in the areas of information and communication technology.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), said the two countries will work to tackle cyber risks.
Bangladesh delegation highlighted the various tax exemption policies and other benefits provided by the present Bangladesh government for investment in technological sector.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said Bangladesh will provide all kinds of assistance to Uzbekistan to develop the country’s technology sector if Uzbekistan wants.
