The Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom and the Uztekstilprom Association reached an agreement on a 2019-20 action plan to implement the Memorandum of Understanding during the recent Global Textile Days-Tashkent 2019 event that took place in Tashkent (MoU). The plan calls for the implementation of a number of measures that will facilitate increased levels of bilateral cooperation among textile, apparel, and knitwear businesses. The chairwoman of Bellegprom, Tatiana Lugina, met with the chairman of the Uztextileprom Association, Ilkhom Khaidarov.
According to the website of Bellegprom, the two parties discussed the prospects of economic and trade cooperation, and they developed a road map for furthering their collaboration. There are currently a number of Belarusian businesses that are working together closely with Uzbek businesses, and the possibility of opening Belarusian specialty shops in Uzbek establishments is currently being considered.
