S. Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade, A. Ikramov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, and Salmon Fazlur Rahmon, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on the Private Sector, Industry, and Investment all participated in the event.
Over twenty government officials and representatives of Bangladesh’s business community, in addition to other representatives of Uzbekistan’s ministries, departments, and agencies, were in attendance at the event.
The primary purpose of the event is to have a conversation about the current condition and future prospects of bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as to deepen cooperation between the two nations in the process of creating extra opportunities for business owners.
At the Uzbekistan-Bangladesh business forum that took place today, participants focused on ways to improve the level of collaboration that exists between the two nations’ corporate communities.
At the beginning of the event, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov made the observation that the bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh are reaching a new level of mutual trust and partnership, which will strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a variety of different domains.
A. Ikramov, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave a speech in which he emphasized the significance of establishing a Business Council in order to hold such significant events with the business circles of both Bangladesh and Uzbekistan and to define clear goals and prospects for cooperation.
In addition, the adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, S. Fazlur, began his statement by offering his congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the nation’s attainment of its independence. At the same time, Bangladesh communicated its readiness and contentment to cooperate with Uzbekistan in all spheres.
During the course of the event, attendees gave presentations on the economic potential presented by each sector, and an open conversation was organized amongst representatives of the business community regarding cooperation in a variety of disciplines.
During the course of the business forum, the attendees were provided with presentation materials on the investment potential of Uzbekistan as well as information regarding the work that had been completed in conjunction with Bangladesh.
The value of Uzbekistan’s exports to Bangladesh reached approximately 38 million dollars in 2020, representing a 13 percent rise from the previous year’s total. The value of exports was $22.4 million US dollars, while the value of imports was $15.6 million US dollars.
At the conclusion of the event, members of the private sector from both Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, who were present today, indicated their intention to contribute to the ongoing development of collaborative projects in both countries with the participation of their money.
