According to preliminary data, in January-July 2021, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 233.8 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production by the same period in 2020 amounted to 108.9%., the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (82.5%), the volume of production of which amounted to 192.8 trillion soums.
The main factors of growth in the physical volume of industrial production were its increase in the mining industry by 7.9%, in the manufacturing industry – by 9.1%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning – by 11.0%.
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-July 2021 amounted to 22.5 trillion soums, or 9.6% of the total industry.
Manufacturing enterprises in January-July 2021 produced goods for 192.8 trillion soums, or 82.5% of the total industry.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 2.5% (1.6% in January-July 2020), medium-high-tech – 20.3% (24.3%), medium-low-tech – 41.0% (39.1%) and low-tech – 36.2% (35.0%).
In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semitrailers and other finished products amounted to 17.4% (the physical volume index amounted to 100.9% against January-July 2020), the metallurgical industry – 27.8% (113.4%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products – 17.3% (121.0%), for the production of food, drinks and tobacco products – 16.3% (107.1%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products – 9.5% (106.2%).
In January-July 2021, the republic produced 632.2 thousand tons of motor gasoline (an increase of 3.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2020), 369.7 thousand tons of cotton yarn (an increase of 36.9%), 162.2 million liters of beer (2.7%) and 1 046.2 thousand tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled (a decrease of 7.1%).
In January-July 2021, 2,162 trucks were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, the volume of production decreased by 0.3%).
In January-July 2021, 582 buses were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, there was an increase in production by 23.3%).
In January-July 2021, 86.2 thousand units of automobile engines were produced in the republic (a decrease by 37.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2020).
In January-July 2021, 173 tractors were produced in the republic (by January-July 2020, the volume of production decreased by 72.5%).
In January-July 2021, 383 pieces of rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, a decrease in production by 43.1% was recorded).
In the automotive industry in January-July 2021, 36,317 Cobalt cars were produced (growth rates compared to the same period in 2020 amounted to 80.9%), 14 442 – Nexia (34.7%), 26 266 – Gentra (86.5%), 33 862 – Damas (109.6%), 6 485 – Spark (39.6%) and 7 542 – Labo (166.8%).
The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production figures of the previous year for the production of methyl alcohol (7.4 times by January-July 2020), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (114.9 %) and caustic soda (127.2%). At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of ammonium sulfate (96.6% compared to January-July 2020).
If in January-July 2020 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 24.9%, and the physical volume index increased by 5.3%, then in January-July 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 27.8 %, the index of physical volume increased by 13.4%, while the volume of production amounted to 53 577.7 billion soums.
In January-July 2020, the share of production of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manu-facturing industry amounted to 5.3%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, increased by 1.2%.
In January-July 2021, the share of other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 5.1%, the index of physical production increased by 6.3%, and the volume of production amounted to 9 807.1 billion soums.
If in January-July 2020 the share of food production in the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.7%, and the physical volume index, in relation to 2019, reached 103.5%, then in January-July 2021 the share of food decreased to 13.1%, while the index of physical volume increased by 6.4%, the total production volume amounted to 25 221.2 billion soums.
At the end of January-July 2020, the share of beverage production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.4%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, increased by 4.6%.
In January-July 2021, the share of beverage production amounted to 2.7%, the volume index – 119.6%, and the production volume reached 5 117.3 billion soums.
At the end of January-July 2020, the share of the production of textiles in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 11.5%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, amounted to 111.9%.
In January-July 2021, the share of textile production amounted to 13.5%, the index of the physical volume of their production increased by 24.6%, and the production volume amounted to 25 955.4 billion soums.
If in January-July 2020 the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.4%, and the physical volume index was 104.0%, then in January-July 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 3.4%, the index physical volume – 114.7%, production volume reached 6486.1 billion soums.
In January-July 2020, the share of chemical production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 7.6%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, amounted to 100.2%.
In January-July 2021, the share of chemical products amounted to 7.8%, the index of physical volume of production increased by 6.5%, and the volume of production amounted to 14 959.8 billion soums.
At the end of January-July 2020, the share of coke and product production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4.1%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, amounted to 98.3%.
In January-July 2021, the share of coke and refined products production amounted to 3.3%, the physical volume index also decreased by 22.6%, and the production volume amounted to 6 353.3 billion soums.
At the end of January-July 2020, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.2%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, reached 105.8%.
In January-July 2021, the share of this industry amounted to 8.4%, the physical volume index decreased by 18.9%, and the production volume amounted to 16 227.7 billion soums.
At the end of January-July 2020, the share of production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 1.9%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, amounted to 105.9%.
In January-July 2021, the share of this industry was 1.7%, the physical volume index was 104.8%, and the production volume was 3 371.0 billion soums.
The volume of products produced by the enterprises of power supply, gas supply, steam and air conditioning amounted to 16.9 trillion soums (7.2% of the total industrial volume).
The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 11.0%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 1.6 trillion soums (0.7% of the total industry).
Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, there was an increase in services for the emptying, cleaning and treatment of cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks by 7.9%, as well as services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment – by 54.2%. At the same time, an increase in the production of textile waste by 2.2% was recorded.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the output of finished products, the production of consumer goods amounted to 75.1 trillion soums and, compared with the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate reached 107.7%, the share in the total volume of industry was 32.1 %.
In the structure of food production, the production of wine and vodka products and beer amounted to 5.9% (6.8% in January-July 2020).
In the structure of consumer goods production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.2% of the total volume of consumer goods), Andijan (16.8%), Tashkent (11.6%) and Samarkand (9.2%) regions.
The largest growth in consumer goods production was recorded in Jizzakh (125.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2020), Syrdarya (118.4%), Bukhara (118.2%), Namangan (117.8%), Khorezm (114.1 %), Samarkand (113.3%) regions and the city of Tashkent (120.6%), exceeding the national average (107.7%).
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.4% of the total volume of non-food products), Andijan (23.7%), Samarkand (9.1%), and Tashkent (8.5%) regions.

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced goods worth 55.5 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume amounted to 23.7%.
The change in industrial production was significantly influenced by the growth in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Kashkadarya (122.0% compared to January-July 2020), Syrdarya (121.7%), Jizzakh (114.2%), Namangan (112.8 %), Khorezm (109.8%) regions and Tashkent city (113.1%).
In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on the enterprises of Tashkent city (18.4% of the republican volume of industry), Tashkent (18.7%), Navoi (17.6%), Andijan (7.6%) and Ferghana (5.6%) regions.
The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.3%) and Jizzakh (1.7%) regions.
Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the average republican indicator (6 734.7 thousand soums) in Navoi (40 478.7 thousand soums), Tashkent (14 627.7 thousand soums) regions and Tashkent city (15 798.2 thousand soums).
The production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic amounted to 2 162.4 thousand soums, including in Tashkent city – 6 148.5 thousand soums, Andijan region – 3 932.0 thousand soums, Tashkent region – 2 924.2 thousand soums, Syrdarya region – 2 251.9 thousand soums.
During the reporting period, small businesses produced goods for 54.7 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume amounted to 23.4%.
In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Jizzakh (53.4% of the total industry in the region), Namangan (46.3%), Surkhandarya (42.2%), Ferghana (39.6%), Samarkand (39.2%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (6.0%), Tashkent (15.6%), Khorezm (22.0%), Kashkadarya (22.1%), regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (18.2%). Analysis of the structure of industrial production in the context of the regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total volume of industry is explained by the significant volume of production of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Today, 90.6 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 16.6 thousand (18.3% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in the city of Tashkent, 9.9 thousand (11.0%) – Ferghana, 9.3 thousand (10.3%) – Tashkent, 9.2 thousand (10.2%) – Andijan, 7.9 thousand (8.7%) – Samarkand and 7.2 thousand (7.9%) – Namangan regions.
In January-July 2021, 12 334 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 1 395 (11.3% of the total number of newly created) accounted for Ferghana, 1 265 (10.3%) – Samarkand, 1 033 (8.4%) – Namangan, 1 038 (8.4%) – Kashkadarya region and 1 325 (10.7%) – Tashkent city.
Today, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (3 293 units), Namangan (2 707 units), Samarkand (1 706 units), Kokand (1 503 units), as well as in the following districts of Tashkent city: Almazar (2 201 units), Chilanzar (2041 units), Uchtepa (1 929 units), Yunusabad (1 806 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 485 units) and Mirzo-Ulugbek (1 379 units).
As of 1 August 2021, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the city of Shirin (59 units), Syrdarya region; Tamdy district (72 units) and Gazgan city (44 units) of Navoi region; Arnasai (91 units) and Yangiabad (72 units) districts of Jizzakh region; Kegeili (86 units), Kanlykul (71 units), Takhtakupyr (87 units) and Bozatau (43 units) districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (73 units), Surkhandarya region.
