H.E. Mr. Md Zahangir Alam, Bangladesh Ambassador had a meeting with Dr. Adkham Bekmurodov Sharipovich, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan (former Deputy Foreign Minister) on 7 July 2021 at the Academy of Public Administration in Tashkent. Rector informed that Academy has 3 directions: Masters, PhD and training & retraining. In the first half of the academic year they have trained 55000 government officers starting from junior position to high position. He expressed his interest to learn Bangladesh’s experience in public and economics administration with the assistance of the Embassy.
Bangladesh Ambassador thanked the Rector and Academy officials for warm welcome extended to them. Ambassador mentioned about importance of historical ties of both the countries, similarities in culture and religion. He also informed about the booming economy of Bangladesh, tourism attractions and success in industrial sectors. Ambassador informed that Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) in Savar, Dhaka is hosting officers from different cadres to train them in public administration maintaining world standard. Ambassador proposed to establish close cooperation between Uzbekistan Academy and BPATC and proposed to make direct communication through Bangladesh Embassy in Tashkent. Moreover, Bangladesh Ambassador said that there is a separate Ministry for Public Administration in Bangladesh which plays vital role in Public Administration of the country. Besides, Bangladesh pays high attention to women empowerment in Civil Service and all the rights of women are protected by the law of the country.
Rector of the Academy assured Ambassador that he would contact Agency for Public Service Development under the Administration of President to establish relations between two countries and arrange efforts to start possible cooperation with Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center. In the end of the meeting Bangladesh Ambassador requested Rector to help exchange Ministerial level visits from both sides in the days to come to build stronger relation between two sides.
