“The head of state signed the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the ratification of the treaty on alliance relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the Oqorda report reads.
Earlier, on April 25, Senate deputies ratified the treaty on alliance relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The relevant agreement was signed by the leaders of the two countries on December 22, 2022 in Tashkent.
The document is aimed at expanding cooperation in the political, trade-economic, transit-transport, energy, cultural-humanitarian spheres, civil defense and energy, and envisages strengthening of mutual relations in the international arena.
According to the terms of the agreement, the parties will help to strengthen the relations between the parliaments, political parties and public organizations of the two countries.
Also, close cooperation in the fields of foreign policy, defense and security is envisaged to combat terrorism, religious extremism and separatism, transnational organized crime, cybercrime, illegal migration, human trafficking, illegal trade, including new security challenges and threats.
