President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Syrdarya region on 7 October, where he got acquainted with the activities of the joint venture “Sirdaryo Mega Lux”.
Last year, the production of large-capacity polypropylene bags was launched here. These bags, also known as flexible containers, can carry loads between 500 and 5,000 kilograms. They are widely used today in manufacturing, trade, agriculture, and logistics. Sirdaryo Mega Lux is capable of producing 132 million of these containers per year.
A large enterprise, consisting of seven buildings, is consistently developing. In May of this year, the production of double-layer film was launched. Production of stretch films and nonwovens using spunbond technology will begin in the coming months.
Currently, more than 2 thousand people work here. When these projects reach their full capacity, the number of jobs will reach 5 thousand.
Today the company exports to 14 countries, including Russia, Israel, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Together with new projects, it is planned to increase the volume of exports to US$215 million.
The head of state was also provided with information on future projects.
So, in the next five years, it is planned to create a technopark for the production of polymer products and implement eight projects worth US$350 million. For this they will attract investments for US$260 million and technologies from Germany, Italy and Austria.
The President stressed the need to pay special attention not only to the economic, but also to the social efficiency of projects.
– The raw materials for these products are in our homeland. If we use this wisely and strike a balance between price and quality, our products will be competitive. It is necessary to deal with not only economic, but also socio-economic projects. Both entrepreneurs and people should receive income, – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Instructions were given to double the volume of production and to build housing for workers.
